Thank you for visiting the website of the Opus Chorale! We hope you will enjoy getting to know a little bit more about the Opus Chorale and our work.
Like other arts groups, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the efforts of the Opus Chorale. During the 2020-2021 season, the Opus Chorale invested in “singer’s masks” in order to keep the art of choral singing alive. That being said, after the cancellation of our Spring, 2020 endeavors, the fall of 2020 was full of starts and stops that ended in the eventual pause of our singing activities. We tried again in the spring of 2021 and were able to make a recording in May, 2021 that we hope will be available on YouTube in the very near future.
In the fall of 2021, we hope to return to some form of normalcy as we prepare a fall concert entitled, “Contrast in Colors,” which we plan to present on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in the wonderful sanctuary of Christ Church United Methodist (www.ccumwv.org) in Charleston, WV, our home base for rehearsals and concerts.
As we prepare to resume our weekly Sunday afternoon rehearsals, we need to have auditions to fill a few holes we have within our ranks. During the second half of August, 2021, we will be holding auditions for two 1st tenor positions, and two 2nd bass positions. When these spots are filled, we will be at our capacity of 24 singers.
If you are interested in auditioning for the vocal positions mentioned above, please contact our Artistic Director and Conductor, David Donathan, at email@example.com to schedule an audition.
We are scheduled to resume our rehearsals on Sunday, August 29th at 1:30pm. We will post the repertoire for our concert very soon.
Thank you for your interest in the Opus Chorale!
